Halloween 2010

I'm a pink skeleton, Mama painted bones on my crocs too!
Thanks to Auntie Lynne for the inspiration... these are actually glow in the dark jammies she sent me.

My first lollipop, Bailey was showing me how it is done.

My Mama shops in the boys department...

... and I like it (most of the time). Here's the deal, I like pink, so does Mama. She thinks I'm super cute in it but sometimes the boys just have better things. Case in point, every boy department carries some kind of jammies with rocket ships and planets... I love that stuff. I have never seen a pink rocket or solar system. Then you have girl slippers... boring! Get a load of these, so much fun that I can't wait to put them on. I'm just saying, my Mama would have bought them in pink... if they'd had them... but I'm glad she didn't :-).

What a weekend!

I had quite a weekend so I'm putting some pictures up... saw the Behnkens a lot, Friday Howard and Elaine came over to read me stories, Saturday we saw Howard again and Sunday night we had dinner together and I got to go to Menchie's for ice cream and cookies. That night, when Mama was singing me to sleep, I requested a "Reno song" when Mama sang "Reno loves Elliot..." I interrupted to say "Elliot loves Reno too... Elliot loves Howard... Elliot loves Elaine" and so it went.

We also gave big girl pants a try so I'm including a picture of me trying to figure out how to put them on... one even ended up on my head... not very helpful, but amusing nonetheless. I like to read magazines on the big potty.

Then Sunday we went to the Natural History Museum and saw spiders, lizards and snakes... I even touched one and the spiders didn't scare me at all.

My 2nd Birthday Part I and II

Part I - The birthday celebration started in Kentucky. It was my Grandpa's birthday on Sept. 23 so we had a pre-party for both of us. I saw all the Murphys and had a great time! They had cake. I asked for a cupcake and Mama built a "cupcake" out of banana wheat pancakes and apple butter layer in a cupcake foil. I'm not sure who she thinks she's kidding... I let her get away with this kind of stuff now and again.

Part II - We went to the beach in the morning again with our good friends. It was terrific, 90 degrees on the beach at 9am! We ate bagels, played and swam and built a sand castle. After a nice nap I woke up and again requested a cupcake (this was my birthday after all). This time Daddy got me a cupcake... the next day my poo was pink. I'm a little worried that may have been my last pink cupcake.

It's my "pre" birthday!

Who gets a "pre" birthday... I'll tell you who, I do! Auntie Lynne sent me a tickle monkey that cracks me up and a cute birthday outfit. Part of which I wore to Spencer's 5th b-day party on Sunday (I'm saving the tutu part for my b-day :-)). Then I get to Spencer's awesome party and had a great time swimming and playing only to be given a new ride and super fun toy (Mama says it's "educational") to use when I left. I'm the luckiest girl!

Butterflies and a story about Dumbo

I went to the Natural History Museum yesterday and today with Mama and Dada. There was so much going on that we went two days in a row. We went into the butterfly pavilion and a nice girl showed me a butterfly up close... yesterday one landed on Mama. Very friendly butterflies.

Tonight Dada was reading me Dumbo for the umpteenth, but tonight, for some reason the part about the Mama elephant not being able to see Dumbo and only sing a lullaby through the cage window really got to me and I started to cry. Dada had to fast forward to the end so I could see them together again... then I was happy again! Tomorrow night we are reading Bambi... not!

Sweet dreams... xo ESM

Happy Birthday!

I'm going to count this as my first song. We've had a lot of practice with birthdays this month, normally I just say "Happy"... and the first time I said that was to my Grandma on her birthday in February. On Thursday I said "Happy......gobble dee...day" to Theresa... but my mom couldn't get me to say it again when we called my cousin Ashley. Today was extra special... Mama asked me to sing Happy Birthday to my Auntie Lynne, and I just did it... guitar and all.

I love you! xoxoxox E. Starling

Monkey Bars

I surprised Mama and Dada with this trick last week, maybe I'll be a gymnast.
Got any tips Auntie Lynne?

Happy Mom's Day to all the Mamas!

One, two...

I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I am surprising my folks with daily. A couple days ago Daddy was walking me up the stairs and I started counting stairs with him, actually saying the next number before he did. He was REALLY surprised. I've been doing it my head for a while so I thought I'd let them in on it... I can count to ten... but only to nine when I'm being video taped. :-) I can also say and sign "LOVE YOU!"

It's spring!

Hi and happy Spring to everyone. It's warming up and I'm outside a lot so I have some new shoes and I've been playing in the sand at the volleyball court a lot. I also now fit into my snazzy pink crocs that Uncle Johnny gave me and they are a nice contrast to Grandma's green metallic purse. I'm saying lots of new words.

In the sand video I'm saying "bucket" and in the shoe video I'm saying "run" and "vrooom"... because I see a motorcycle. I also say beep beep when I see a car.

Happy "half" Birthday to me!

My folks made a big deal out of my "half" birthday today. They measured me, put me in a new forward facing car seat, took me to the museum, let me run down the hill and generally made me feel pretty special. I even got to have pizza with Ward and Jana and then swing on the swings... probably should have done that the other way around. It was so much fun. I'd also like to mention that this week is another big birthday, my Uncle Ken is 50! Wish we could be there to celebrate.
