One, two...

I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I am surprising my folks with daily. A couple days ago Daddy was walking me up the stairs and I started counting stairs with him, actually saying the next number before he did. He was REALLY surprised. I've been doing it my head for a while so I thought I'd let them in on it... I can count to ten... but only to nine when I'm being video taped. :-) I can also say and sign "LOVE YOU!"

I'm driving!

O.k. well maybe I'm not driving yet but I do have the keys! Back in April (1st) I said was walking but that was just an April Fool's joke. Now I am walking... well at least taking a few steps every day. I took my first official steps about a week before my 10 month b-day... 4 steps to Daddy to be exact. So, cousin Ashley if you are reading this, remember... time flies!

Leavin' on a jet plane...

Don't box me in... I can get out :-)

I'm moving around a lot now so my folks are looking for ways to confine me for short periods of time. I'm pretty easy-going and humor them a lot by just hanging out quietly in my crib or playpen, but when Mama put me in this box I had to make it clear that it just wasn't an option... but fun to play in nonetheless.

I get around.. and around!

I'm almost 8 months old and have been crawling for a little over a week now. Didn't take long for me to get it down. Last week Mama almost cried (happy tears... I don't get that yet... anyway) when she walked in the door from work and I started crawling towards her. I do that all the time now when she or Dad walk in a room and I'm hanging out on my playmat.

Mama took this video today so you could all see how agile I am... yep that's right I said 'agile.' I like my books. I couldn't decide between the Book of Colors or Circus McGurkis.

Something old and something new...

This is the "something old," when I was very little I liked this sling a lot and now my folks have rediscovered it and made some adjustments and I like it all over again... and it's bouncy!

And the "something new" is my new mat that I can crawl around on. I'm getting really good especially when I'm really motivated... like if there is something on the mat I want to put in my mouth :-).

In my Crib

I like hanging out in my crib. Now I can roll over and get up on my hands and knees. Whenever Dadeo is looking at me on the video monitor Mama asks what I'm doing. Lately Dadeo says, "She's tied the sheets together in knots and is climbing out of the crib." Little does he know exactly how close I am to actually doing that! From my Crib to yours... XOXO E. Avocados... yummy!

I just decided today that I like avocados... this is because today is the first day I've ever had one. First my Mama washed the outside real good and gave me the whole thing to gnaw on... which I did. Then she cut it up and mashed it for me. And that was it.

Sweet Potatoes!

This is a video of my first taste of "food." I tried it... because these days I basically put everything into my mouth. I think I managed to spit out all the stuff that was on that spoon. I liked the spoon a lot. That was Saturday... they tried it again today and I wasn't having any of it on a spoon or in bottle. Mom said she thought the sweet potatoes were quite good, so maybe I'll get used to them. They said I have to try two more times and then I get an avocado... who knew it was a fruit! They grow in backyards in CA, but Mom had to buy this one from the store, I hope I like it(and so does Mom and Dad).

Rubbadubdub

Here's a little video of me in my new tub. I love this tub there is plenty of room for my rubber ducky and other bath toys. I really love my baths. Mom sings songs to me like Yellow Submarine, Octopus' Garden, Splish Splash and of course Rubber Ducky... she doesn't really know all the words but I don't mind.

Laughing with Amy

Hi, I laughed today for the first time on record. I was with my friend Amy and Dad. Amy laughs at just about anything my Dad says... I'll probably be the same way. My Mom was at work... so I'm sure when she gets home she'll be trying really hard for a repeat performance... maybe she'll get a good giggle on video and post it.

Mobile Milestone

Today I am 6 weeks and 3 days old. My parents say that I am really smart for my age and today I proved it by touching and responding (SMILING) to the cool toys that are attached to my bouncy seat. My parents are really looking forward to me realizing that my hands are in fact mine. Sometimes... when I was littler... I would scratch myself or smack myself in the face and then cry thinking "hey, who just smacked/scratched me" and the whole time it was me doing it! Crazy when I look back on it. Also, yesterday Mom weighed me again and I've gain another 1/2 pound... I'm growing so fast!

Smiles the real deal...

Happy Halloween! Today I'm dressed in the outfit my Auntie Lynne sent me. It says "Mommy is Under My Spell." How true... I see the glazed over look in her eyes and I know it's true. Some might think that it's just a lack of sleep... the glazed over look, I mean... but I know it's the spell I've cast! We are going to a little Halloween event they throw here at Park La Brea for all the kids. I'm not sure if I'll wear my costume or not... I might! Anyhoo... here is a picture of me smiling. I smile now everyday... the real kind... not the "gassy" smile. I smile at both my folks, it really keeps 'em going, they love me soooooo much!
